É oficial, a Valve estará na maior feira de jogos da Europa, GamesCom 2011. Ela acontece do dia 18 à 21 de Agosto.
O sistema de busca no website SteamPowered.com se mostrou muito mais útil para divulgar informações do que a Valve. Apesar de nada poder ser afirmado com certeza, os dados encontrados através da busca por " Dota 2″ (não funciona mais) na busca, feita por um sagaz usuário, parecem ser legítimos.

Então segue uma notícia sobre o Lich, indicando que ele provavelmente foi um dos primeiros heróis a serem adicionados. É mencionado sobre um fix dos couriers também.
A próxima notícia é do final do mês de abril. Ela fala que o DotA 2 recebeu parcialmente o update para a versão 6.72, apenas 2 dias dela ter sido lançada para o DotA original (28 de abril).
O próximo update fala de uma nova função chamada de DotA TV, isso deve ser muito provavelmente uma ferramenta para fazer streams dos jogos ou ver replays.
No dia 27 são mencionados novos beta testers e um fix para o DotA TV
O último update fala sobre mais um fix para o DotA TV e menciona o Death Prophet.

Dota 2 está sendo testado desde novembro.
Heróis estão sendo adicionados e consertados. (Lich, Death Prophet e Vengeful Spirit foram mencionados)
Dota 2 está acompanhando as mudanças que ocorrem na versão original do jogo.
Um sistema para ver partidas ao vivo, provavelmente no mesmo estilo do Counter Strike HLTV está sendo testado.
